Formula Applied:
3 hrs × ₱150.00/hr × 125%
Calculation Formulas & Steps
1. Hourly Rate Derivation
If starting with a monthly salary, derive daily rate using the DOLE annual divisor, then divide daily rate by 8 hours.
2. Applicable Overtime Multiplier
Apply the DOLE multiplier: Ordinary Day (125%), Rest Day (169%), Special Day (169%), Regular Holiday (260%), Double Holiday (390%).
3. Night Differential Overlap (if worked between 10 PM – 6 AM)
Overtime hours inside the night window receive an additional 10% premium on top of the overtime rate.
Assumptions & Rules
- Follows the DOLE Handbook on Workers' Statutory Monetary Benefits.
- A standard full-time workday is 8 hours.
- Overtime refers strictly to work performed in excess of 8 regular hours.

- Field personnel and domestic workers governed by special laws (Batas Kasambahay) have distinct provisions.

- Rest Day / Special Non-Working Day: Hourly rate × 169% (130% × 130%)
- Special Day falling on Rest Day: Hourly rate × 195% (150% × 130%)
- Regular Holiday: Hourly rate × 260% (200% × 130%)
- Regular Holiday falling on Rest Day: Hourly rate × 338% (260% × 130%)
- Double Regular Holiday: Hourly rate × 390% (300% × 130%)
Questions people ask next
Can an employer pay less than the statutory overtime rate?
No. The DOLE overtime rates represent the legal minimum. Company policies or Collective Bargaining Agreements (CBA) may provide higher rates, but cannot pay below statutory minimums.
Does overtime pay include base pay for the day?
This calculator computes the overtime premium amount itself. Base pay for the regular 8-hour shift is paid separately as part of your regular daily wage.
